From the Pastor…

Dear Church Family,

Here we are once again at the changing of the seasons. Spring is moving into summer, and the warm days and sunlight are welcome after the cold winter and the rainy spring days. For many, summer invites us into a time of slowing down. It is a time to rediscover the rhythms of rest, reflection and renewal as we savor God’s creation and enjoy time with family and friends for outdoor gatherings and vacations.

It is also the season for gardening and growing. Just as gardens need tending so that they will grow and provide us with beautiful fruits, our spiritual life also needs tending. Take some time as we look forward to the first days of summer to think about what it would look like for you to tend your soul this summer. I know that travel and other gatherings can lead to busy weekends, but don’t forget to include worship in your plans.

Staying connected with God and with each other is important to the tending of your spiritual life. In addition, your presence with your siblings in Christ might give someone else the support and hope that they need during this season. Continue your daily devotional time or start a new one! If you are reading through the Bible in a year with us, don’t give up now! Even if you are behind, it doesn’t matter. Creating the habit, spending time in God’s Word, and hearing what God is saying to you through the Scriptures is what is important.

May this summer be a season of stories – both stories of the joy of spending time with family and friends and the stories of the way that God is working in your life and in the lives of those around you. May those stories take root in your heart, grow in your spirit, and bear fruit in your daily life.

In Christ’s Love & Service,

Pastor Lisa
