Be Part of a Community
There are many ways that you can become connected at East Fairfield UMC.
MUSIC
Choir – For those who enjoy singing, our choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7pm from September to May and they sing during the Sunday morning worship service each week.
Special Music – In the summers, we invite anyone who would like to share special music during our worship service. Sign-up to share your musical talents by calling the office.
SMALL GROUP MEETINGS
Women’s Joy Circle – The Joy Circle usually meets once a month for lunch and a program. They also do special events throughout the year.
Men’s Coffee Group – The Men’s Coffee Group meets every Tuesday morning at 8:30 am. In the cooler months, they meet in the Fellowship Hall. In the summer, they meet at Larry’s Pavilion (call for directions). On the second Tuesday of the month, they invite the ladies to join them for a special breakfast potluck.
Prayer Blanket Group – Do you enjoy sewing or quilting? The Prayer Blanket Group gathers as needed to sew prayer blankets which are then given to those who are in need of prayer. The blankets are prayed over during the worship service by members of the congregation who tie off a knot on the blanket as a symbol of their prayers and love and then they are delivered to the person in need.
EDUCATION
Sunday School – On Sunday mornings, Sunday school classes meet at 10:45. There are classes for adults (including high school youth), older elementary school kids, and preschool/early elementary school kids.
Bible Study – Occasionally we offer midweek Bible Studies for those who are interested. These are usually short-term studies with a defined beginning and end date. If you are interested in studying a particular topic, let Pastor Lisa know and we will see about getting a study started!
Vacation Bible School – In the summer we host a one week Vacation Bible School for elementary and preschool aged children. Middle and high school youth are invited to come and be helpers as well as any adults who love to work with the kids. It is always a fantastic week full of fun music, interesting activities, and learning about God’s love for us.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Ice Cream Festival – We host an annual Ice Cream Festival on the grounds of the church, usually in mid-August. We make our own ice cream and serve it (with a dinner, of course!) It’s a great time to catch up with neighbors and friends and have some delicious ice cream.
