There is a place where thou canst touch the eyes

Of blinded men to instant, perfect sight;

There is a place where thou canst say, “Arise”

To dying captives, bound in chains of night;

There is a place where thou canst reach the store

Of hoarded gold and free it for the Lord;

There is a place — upon some distant shore —

Where thou canst send the worker and the Word.

Where is that secret place — dost thou ask, “Where?”

O soul, it is the secret place of prayer!

— Alfred Lord Tennyson

Fast from ignorance. Read a book.

Pray for people who lack a proper education.

Give used books to a library or a literacy organization.   Or give $5 to your FastPrayGive bowl.

Sunday, February 25

To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees. — Billy Graham

Fast by reducing your carbon footprint.

Pray for the environment and all those people who are victims of natural disasters which have been encouraged by global warming — ride your bike instead of driving, turn off lights, computers and appliances when you’re not using them.

Give by planting a tree to help reduce carbon admissions or have a tree planted for you and help to build back areas which have been destroyed by wildfires.
